In Progress

>> Monday, June 13, 2011

I have been working hard on several projects over the last few weeks that I am eager to share with all of you...I just haven't had the time to sit down and get them on here for you to look at.

I have been working on some personal projects, like testing the limits of my new D3s camera to be able to give it a proper review for you to enjoy, as well as some works for new and returning clients. Hopefully this little update and the news that I have updated the photos on the official website (http://www.stephaniebeachphotography.com/) will give you something to look at and think of in the meantime.

I have incorporated a few changes in the last couple of days and will be continuing to do so over the next little while. The biggest change is the launching of my own website: http://www.stephaniebeachphotography.com/ This blog is linked to from the new site and the home link at the top of this page now links back to the site.
I will also be launching a Facebook page and will let you all know when that is set up and finalized.
And finally, I am in the process of officially starting my photography business. There are just a few final things I need to figure out before that is complete.
So all in all, big steps for me and my photography that I am pretty freaking excited about!

PHO5595 - Finale

>> Thursday, May 14, 2009

I went into my Algonquin College online account to verify the end date of my current course (Photoshop for Photographers - PHO5593) and then realized that I could check my grades there. I don't really know why I hadn't thought of this before, but I hadn't. I checked and am very happy with the result: I got an A+ in Multimedia Applications (PHO5595).
Though I am pleased with this mark, I am not surprised. I am not trying to be arrogant, but I knew what I was doing when it came to making that website. I really could have taken a 3 hour workshop and would have been able to produce the same quality of work. But it was necessary for the certificate program, and I did learn a little so it was worth it overall.

PHO5595 - Completed

>> Wednesday, April 22, 2009

Last night was my last PHO5595 (Multimedia Applications) course. There was no assignment to hand in or anything like that. We simply had to show the instructor our progress and then continue working on it throughout the evening. I had not worked on it since the previous week due to unforeseen events, but he was still impressed with my progress when he came over first thing in the evening. I worked on it throughout the night and went from 1 page to 6 pages with flash animation and both internal and external links. I am pretty pleased with the overall look of it and intend of finishing it up this week. Hopefully I will be able to figure out how the whole website name and publishing thing works and get something online for the public to view shortly.

My next course starts in two weeks and is rather intensive as it runs twice a week for two months rather than once a week for four months. It is a photoshop course and I am really looking forward to it. Hopefully it will be more challenging than this course was as I flew through this course will little to no effort.

PHO5595

>> Wednesday, January 14, 2009

I started my second course on the road to my Certificate in Digital Photography last night. It was an awful and boring introductory course that went on forever. It was made worse by the terrible weather and the fact that I really just wanted to be at home with Dave.

But the course sounds like it could be good. It is Multimedia Applications - so basically by the end of the course we will have designed a website from scratch using Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator and Fireworks (all Adobe programs). I have all these programs at home so I should be able to perfect my website, which as we all know is something I tend to want to do when it comes to my photography assignments.

In short, I am looking forward to the learning but not so much the instructor and he was incredibly dull last night.
