This guy was also at the Clearwater Aquarium. This was one of the several sea turtles rescued by the staff that could not be rehabilitated for one reason or another.

Taken at the Clearwater Aquarium, this guy was getting really anxious for his performance in the dolphin show.

Manatees are so odd looking. When they are sitting in the water, one could easily mistake them for rocks, as I initially did. But then you look at them and realize they are so kind and peaceful looking.
I really like this image - though it isn't a typical photo of a fountain. The manatee figure on top of it, though well done, was a little bland as that is the nature of the animal (no offense to the manatees intended).
Most of Pooh's shots to date have been taken with this little Panasonic camera and he wanted to check it out. He did however, have to follow the rule of using Steph's cameras and have the strap around his wrist.
Originally taken in Magic Kingdom (Disney), this photo was always meant to be put through some grotesque treatment. I took the cement pattern from behind Pooh and placed it over him in a similar fashion to how I made Chris' grotesque photo, though this one isn't nearly as disturbing as hers. For Valentine's Day I bought two bags of heart-shaped chocolates, the kind in the red foil, and did a photo shoot (with and without Pooh). I have chosen three of the Pooh shots to be included in my 100 Possibilities Project and have entitled them below. Hopefully you will all agree with me that they are unique enough to all be included in the project. I had many other shots that I determined were too similar to these or other shots of mine and they therefore could not be included, but are viewable in my Valentine's Day set on Flickr (along with the non-Pooh shots I took).
I really enjoyed my impromptu V-day photo shoot. I used my umbrella kit and Dave's piano bench (as well as a black pashmina) for the setup and controlled my SB-600 flash with my on-camera flash. The setup took longer than I thought it would, but once I got going I had a lot of fun.

My fourth photo for my 100 Possibilities Project is a composite photo where Winnie has taken time to stop and smell the flowers within the Magic Kingdom.
Another night shot within Safety Harbour of the really neatly lit trees. This one took a little longer to expose as the lighting wasn't directly on it, but I am still really pleased with how it turned out.
I took this photo in Disney's Magic Kingdom Park, not that it really matters. I took it so that I could run it through Photoshop, which I have. I decided to do a duotone on this guy using black, dark blue, burgundy and peach. I think it has a sort of vintage feel to it and the processing definitely makes it more interesting than the original photo and different from the previous photos used for this project.
We returned to Safety Harbour to try and get some shots of this really strange house but found out that the lights there weren't all that spectacular. Upon leaving the area, Dave spotted these really nicely lit trees that we took shots of instead. They turned out really spooky-like and I really quite pleased with them.
Taken right near the entrance of the Epcot park in Disney World, this is second photo for my 100 Possibilities Project entitled Light Pooh. I did take it through Photoshop and dodged/burnt it a bit, but other than that it is essentially the same as it was in camera.
Ray Pilon is not only a great photographer, but also a magnificent instructor. I have been lucky enough to have taken a course given by him at Algonquin and will hopefully be able to take more with him in the future. He also happens to be the organizer for the night (photography) program at Algonquin. If you ever get the chance to take a course with him, don't pass it up.
He started out with traditional film and has worked for years as a professional photographer. He spent many years with Lee Valley Tools shooting their beautiful magazine covers. His photos are breathtakingly beautiful and yet usually very simple.
He is able to do all sorts of photography as well as if he specialized solely in that area, from wedding photography to commercial and real estate. I believe it is the basic understanding of photography he has that makes his photos so great and it is his ability to take these wonderful photos with such ease that makes his work so inspirational to me.

This week's theme at I Heart Faces is Kisses. I was going to post a more traditional shot from either Tyler and Lynn's wedding or of one of the several kissing shots I have of Dave and I, but I thought this one was much more fun.
I mentioned a little while ago that I wanted to start a year-long project called 100 Possibilities (though I am also calling it Project 100). At the time I didn't know what object I wanted to use for the project, but was able to find what I think is the perfect one while in Disney.
This little guy is quite small, he fits inside my hand in fact, and lends himself to macro photography, but is not so small that he cannot be seen in a wider angle photo. What makes him so perfect is that he is magnetic. He has magnets in his hands and feet that make me able to stick him to things for photos. His name also lends itself to some rather entertaining, though somewhat juvenile, names for the photos I have taken so far.
The first photo I am using for this project is while he is still in the store (hence the name of Store Pooh) with all his little Pooh friends.

A wonderful location I enjoy going to on a regular basis is much closer to my home in Ottawa. The Ottawa Greenbelt walkways are simply beautiful no matter what time of year you venture out in. There is lots of adorable animals to see and tons of great locations for environmental portraits. The photo I have included for this area (which is actually a series of paths and trails across Ottawa) is another photo of Dave taken in the Prince of Wales walkway just as you are leaving the city.
A third 'location' is the City of Ottawa and its wonderful festivals. The Winterlude Festival, to me, is associated with the skating on the Rideau Canal and all the joy that brings for me and my friends and family. Last year Dave and I took his sister skating on the canal and I was able to capture some really great family moments there. The Tulip Festival has to be one of my favourite times in this city, though I take very few photos of people at this time of the year. Ottawa has so many wonderful festivals and events going on throughout the year that offer its residents and tourists huge amounts of entertainment and overall enjoyment. I really love living in this city and can really see myself making a real, long-term home here.© Blogger templates Romantico by Ourblogtemplates.com 2008
