This image was taken almost a year ago at my 24th birthday party. We partook in the 60 minutes where everyone turned off their lights (60 Earth or something like that). It was great. The name of the post however, is a bit of a lie - this image wasn't taken by candlelight but instead with the use of a sad little light beside Jerrica. It was one of the first pictures I ever took of her - she is so photogenic that I really haven't stopped since.
So I have ended the voting process for my next signature. Thank you to everyone who voted either here, on one of my other blogs, through Facebook or in person. #8 appears to be the overall winner, which to be honest doesn't surprise me all that much. I will be using either this new signature or my old signature (depending on the degree of interference) in my photographs from now on as well as on my future website (currently under construction).
Okay so I have spent the last hour of my current class coming up with a new logo/signature combination and since they are all my creations I cannot choose between them. Could everyone pretty please leave comments as to which one they prefer (and you can tell me to start from scratch or just to keep using my basic signature which is just the Stephanie Beach C 2008 you see within the images here).
I am attempting to get out there despite the weather and practice taking shots in winter. In the past I have avoided such situations since I felt I could not deal with all the white surroundings and intense light (aka snow and ice). I have gone out several times now, mostly to the canal and one trip to Winterlude, and have done pretty well. I am definitely getting better and learning how to adjust my camera settings to deal with the non-ideal settings. I have also learned that the bright white overcast days that often occur during the winter days can give some neat effects (eg. solid white backgrounds without any post-production work) that I really like in certain photos (like the one of the stop light [red light, green light] below). I am going to keep practicing as I still need it but I am definitely happy with the progress I have made so far.
